This was a message from my brother when I was in the Philippines back in July 2010. I never answered it, but I LOVE IT SO, so I’m posting it now.
“good ol daysz girl!”

Mommy’s back!
As always, we end the year with food and family. And polka dots.
I thought I’d end this project with a self-portrait. 2010 was one of the best years yet. And it certainly is the best documented. Hooray!

Disneyland! It was the twins’ first time. It was super crowded because it was the first sunny day in over a week, but a lovely time was had by all. Got an annual pass, so I’ll be seeing you a bit in 2011, Disneyland. (Hopefully.)

Look at this little baby smiling in her sleep!
It was a wonderfully rainy day. Perfect for some reading and 30 Rock withdrawals on Netflix.

Crate o’ avocados!
Finally started watching Sherlock (2010 PBS miniseries), which is insanely good! It makes me hate the Megavideo 72-minute rule even more.

Slept in a cutesy tent with Niza.
The necklaces I ordered on Etsy for my nieces came today. The seller assured me they would arrive in time for Christmas. LIIIIIIIES!
Went back to South Coast to get some things for Ditse’s coworkers. Half off pastries after 5, wooo!

I have a better picture for today, but I’m still waiting for my sister’s SD card.
Started the day off with ham leftovers and the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Then headed to South Coast Plaza to join the rest of the crazy world in post-Christmas mall shopping and gift returning. I had doubts about this, but I thought, it will be time spent with family. Um, malls are soul-suckers and it was a waste of time.

Christmas Eve was relaxing, probably because for the first time ever in the 20 years that I’ve lived, we moved the festivities to the afternoon of Christmas day rather than late Christmas eve. Oooh, forgoing traditions.
Tomorrow will be hectic though, probably with lots of cooking and failed attempts to control children. I’m so excited!

Welcome to the Bautista paper-wasting factory. The area under the tree gets filled up with gifts around Thanksgiving, and every day after that the overflow pile just keeps getting bigger. Here we see that pile, which will surely double by tomorrow night, since some family members have yet to deliver their lot, some family members do their shopping last minute, and some other family members like to keep their stash of presents hidden in their rooms until Christmas eve (this is me, and I have a pretty big room-pile going already).
I love my massive family.
(Although, gaaaaaawd, all that paper!)

This came in the mail today! Yep, gearing up for the next few years.
Took care of babies and little girls, then some gift wrapping before bed while rewatching Doctor Who series 5 episodes. Mmmm.

Hit up the nearby donut shop for breakfast. With hot chocolate, of course. Then went back to the apartment basically to finish packing and then take off. Of course, as with any airplane trip, we spent half of our day at the airport. But we found out that Gaby got her internship at the capitol! And she’s a pro intern, with other little interns working for her! Too cool.
We landed in the OC at 4:30 pm. Davis was awesome! Love you, G and S!

Yeah, we woke up super late. It was 2:30 by the time we left the apartment. We went to the UC Davis bookstore to get Saneeya’s keychain, then headed to downtown for some lunner. Woodstock’s! So delicious, OMG. Pizza really is the perfect food. Got two more DVDs from Blockbuster because that is who we are. Got an Agatha Christie book from The Avid Reader, which is an awesome indie bookstore. Finally Ciocolat was open, and G and S bought some sweets.
Went home and made bread with Gaby. It was my 42nd loaf! Just your basic garlicky loaf, no recipe. Ate that with red pepper spread as we watched three movies. The Hangover, 500 Days of Summer, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I know, we’re awesome. Then CHRISTMAs GIFTS! <3

Sacramento day! It was cold and rainy, so we didn’t end up going to old town Sac. It was hailing! Little balls of ice! It was really cool. We checked out the mall, we failed at using a photobooth, I had a delicious corndog for the first time in a very long time, and we watched Tron, which was pretty good except I fell asleep in the middle when all the action was happening.
Rode the bus back to downtown Davis. Tried to go to Ciocolat, but ended up in Crepeville again. I pretty much drank exclusively hot chocolate this entire trip. Went to the Aggie TV studio, where we watched Zombieland on Netflix. The late-night walk back to Gaby’s apartment was zombie-freaky. Stayed up ridiculously late watching E News and reality TV.
Took this self-portrait-with-friends at the giant tree in front of the capitol. I did the same thing in Union Square in SF last year, lulz.
